Penedès is the cava region south of Barcelona with Vilafranca del Penedès, the capital of wine and Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, the capital of cava. There are many cava and wineries in this area, from large to small, where the owner still manually turns the bottles every day!
This wine region is close to Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú. Just 20 minutes by car!
About an hour from Penedès you will find the Priorat. Here in the province of Tarragona, the most beautiful wines are produced with the highest DOCa certification. A region with special wine landscapes and wine estates.
Ebro Delta
The Ebro Delta Natural Park is the largest protected wetland in Catalunya with a rich flora and fauna. More than 800 different species of flora, where the hurdles, the reeds, the eucalyptus trees and the river honeysuckles stand out. Much of this vegetation has had to adapt to extreme conditions and colonize dunes, saline soils or lagoon areas. The wildlife of the Delta, basically birds, attracts birdwatchers (observació d'aus) around the world. In fact, between 50,000 and 100,000 specimens of exactly 343 species of birds are quantified.
