Peralada: castle, Michelin* Restaurant, and bodega

Perelada is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious wineries in the Empordà region, located in northeastern Catalonia. The winery's history is deeply intertwined with the medieval castle of the village of Peralada, where the tradition of winemaking dates back to the 14th century.

It is a spectacular structure built largely underground to minimize its impact on the surrounding landscape. Wine & History in Priorat

In the Priorat region, located in the province of Tarragona, some of the finest wines are produced, carrying the prestigious DOCa certification. It is a rugged area characterized by extraordinary vineyard landscapes and historic wine estates.

With its inhospitable terrain, Priorat was traditionally one of the poorest regions in Catalonia. Consequently, in the late 1970s, few believed in the plans of a group of visionary "hippies" who aimed to revive a wine industry that had once flourished in the seventeenth century. Against all odds, they succeeded: today, Priorat is recognized as one of the most important wine regions in the world. The area is entirely surrounded by the vineyards of the DO Montsant.

Ora Hotel Priorat combines the charm of yesteryear with modern comfort. Housed in the historic abbey of Torroja del Priorat, this 18th-century building has been transformed into a stylish boutique hotel. It is an exceptional place to enjoy the stunning landscapes, exquisite wines, and authentic gastronomy of the Priorat wine country.

Not far from Torroja del Priorat lies the Cartoixa d'Escaladei (the Carthusian Monastery of the Stairway to God), a mystical site at the foot of the Sierra de Montsant. Founded in the 12th century, it was the first Carthusian monastery on the Iberian Peninsula and the driving force behind the development of the entire region. Over the centuries, the complex grew into an impressive center of art and culture, featuring three cloisters and a majestic church. Today, the monastery is a protected monument that has been beautifully restored.

We largely owe the current world fame of Priorat wine to the monks of Escaladei. The village of Escaladei, right next to the monastery, is now the perfect spot for a wine tasting to sample the monks' legacy for yourself.

The 3-days package includes:

- 2 nights accommodation including breakfast

- Tour and tasting at Cellers de Scala Dei, Clos Pachem, or Costers del Priorat

- Visit to the vineyards of Aixalà i Alcait in Torroja del Priorat

- Entrance to Cartoixa d'Escaladei

- 1 x "Essences of the Land" dinner featuring local products
